David DeDera
David DeDera started his show business career at the age of 19 by attending Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus Clown College. After graduating and traveling with the famed circus for 6 years Dave continued his performing path here in Las Vegas at Circus Circus Hotel & Casino. In Las Vegas he has spent the past 30 years entertaining audiences up and down the Las Vegas Strip. Dave has performed on multiple international tours, stage shows, corporate events, film and TV. Wanting to share his love of performing Dave has spent the past 25 years teaching and coaching stage and circus arts to students of all ages. Dave has coordinated the Las Vegas chapter of Circus Du Soleil’s social circus program Cirque du Monde, is a founding member and coach of the non for profit Social CirKish program. Dave instructed for The City of Las Vegas, New Directions Youth Arts Program (where his circus arts program won Michelle Obamas National coming Up Taller award).
While traveling with the circus Dave developed a love for prop making. He apprenticed with master prop builder Ivan Saxby. This, along with a graphic art degree and a love for creating, allowed him to developed the skills that would lead to a second career in set and prop construction. Dave has free lanced in this field for 30 years. He has designed and built for international tours, theme parks, circuses, theater companies and stage performances all over the globe. Dave has had the pleasure of working with the extremely talented Theater Department at Bishop Gorman for the past 10 years where he is continuously challenged with new and exciting projects.
