Louisa Lemos

Louisa Lemos has been a proud member of the faculty at Bishop Gorman High School since 2019. Originally from Northern California, Ms. Lemos grew up training as a ballerina and immersed in the local community and high school theatre scene. She attended the University of Las Vegas, Nevada with both theatre and academic scholarships. While finishing her B.A. in theatre performance with a minor in dance, Louisa was cast in the original Las Vegas company of Mamma Mia! at Mandalay Bay. She went on to study nutrition in New York City where she enjoyed employment as a Holistic Health Coach and a Pilates, dance, and yoga instructor. Returning to Las Vegas, Ms. Lemos was involved with the Las Vegas Shakespeare Company portraying some of her favorite roles including Ophelia, Juliet, Hermia, and many more. She also directed and choreographed Cinderella and The Wizard of Oz at the Henderson Pavillion. Of course, her favorite role is that of mother to her two daughters Calliope and Persephone. Louisa went on to become a Teaching Artist with The Smith Center for the Performing Arts, and while employed by the Education Department, was involved in many of their programs including Disney Musicals in Schools, Camp Broadway, and Nevada High School Musical Theater Awards. All the while Louisa was busy teaching all levels and ages in dance and theatre throughout the Las Vegas Valley, California, and NYC. Being an arts educator is truly her passion and she is immeasurably honored to be continuing the tradition of theatre and dance here at BGHS. Since becoming a part of the performing arts faculty Ms. Lemos has choreographed some of her favorite shows including Pirates of Penzance, Fiddler on the Roof, and Les Mis. In December of 2023, she finished her Master of Arts program in Theatre Education from Northern Colorado University and continues to be blessed to have a position in which she is allowed to share all of her experience, talent, and knowledge with her students.
